Recovered from travel exhaustion, I went back to Anaj Mat cafe for breakfast and a warm welcome from the wife of the owner & her daughter.
I caught a bus to Goulmime as there wasn't a direct service to Sidi Ifni, from Goulmime I got into a grand taxi as a man there accidentally spat his chewing gum out at me; my shoulder & the strap of my pack was covered in it; disgusting!
The valley from Goulmime to Sidi Ifni was beautiful, covered in olive trees & cactii it was a joy to travel through. Arriving in this old Spanish post, I got a van driver to take me over to La Suerta Loca, a lovely hotel above the beach.
Spending two very comfortable nights there, the first being New Year's Eve, I was lucky to get the last room at 70Dh, I was impressed by the hotel, very clean & friendly with an excellent restaurant. I walked into the centre of town on both days, visiting the market and watching the sheep being sold for Eid. I found a little back street restaurant which did a great plate of spicy mussels and met up with Tariq by chance at a taxi rank in town who told me to come back to Sidi again - I would love to chill out for a week or so there.
The pictures are going to have to speak for themselves, it was a wonderful way to end a long journey prior to flying out of Marrakesh.
